Communities for Children Initiative

Vision – our community is a place where all children have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Communities for Children is a Federal initiative under the Families and Communities Program which aims to

• support families
• strengthen relationships
• improve the wellbeing of children and young people
• increase participation of people in community life to enhance family and community functioning.

The program provides funding for a range of services to support and strengthen local families and community. It also supports a local Community Consultative Committee (CCC) which is a key decision making body for the program.  Community members and services interested in attending are welcome to contact Centacare NQ on 1300 672 273.

The region covered by this program includes Mount Isa, Camooweal, Cloncurry and Dajarra.
