Family Support Service - BRIDGE
BRIDGE Program
BRIDGE is an early intervention FAMILY SUPPORT program that aims to enhance family dynamics and promote healthy relationships. BRIDGE also aims to empower families to develop the skills to manage emotional and behavioural concerns.
BRIDGE offers both an on-site and an outreach service that works with families in Townsville, the Burdekin, Ingham, Charters Towers and Mount Isa.
How can BRIDGE assist?:

- Enhancing family dynamics and promoting healthy relationships
BRIDGE offers:
- A strengths based family approach
- Empowers families to develop their skills in managing emotional and behavioural concerns
- Protective Behaviours
- Budgeting and household management strategies
- Evidenced based parenting courses
- Adolescent brain development and effects on parenting
- Culturally appropriate family support
The BRIDGE program provides support for families to improve both family and individual functioning, wellbeing, and safety.
Referral Process
Families can self-refer to the BRIDGE program by calling 1300 672 273.
Other agencies, government departments and professionals involved with the family may also refer; however, the family must contact Centacare NQ personally to arrange an intake appointment.
The Entry Criteria are as follows:
- At least one member of the family is a child under the age of eighteen years of age
- The child and family are in need of parenting support to improve family functioning
- No members of the family are currently being case managed by the Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs
- A willingness to actively participate and engage with the program
Fees
This program is funded by the Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs and there is no fee for accessing this service.
