TOWNSVILLE: Blocked Care/Blocked Trust Workshop
The purpose of this workshop is to provide people who work with children and parents who are experiencing relationship misattunement with the knowledge and skills to understand and respond in an effective way using DDP principles.
This training is suitable for anyone who works with children who have experienced developmental trauma and parents/carers of children who have experienced developmental trauma.
Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) was developed by Dr Dan Hughes in the 1980’s as a treatment for children with trauma-based attachment disorders.
The aim of DDP is to help the child to move away from shame-based controlling relationship patterns to more reciprocal and comfort seeking relationship patterns.
DDP is a therapeutic model that involves the parents working with the therapist to support their child. The involvement of the parent is essential to a positive outcome from DDP.
